2020 AGM & 2021 Show
Due to current circumstances we had to postpone our AGM which was due to be held in conjunction with the ALSRM show in Reading on 9 May.
Our constitution allows for this in that para. 6.1 enables us to hold the next AGM within 15 months of the previous meeting. This would bring us to a date of 19 August. However, given the ongoing Covid-19 situation, we cannot see any reasonable chance of this happening.
We believe that social distancing is going to be with us for some time and only recently has the meeting together of individuals from different households been allowed. Large gatherings are still banned. Please bear in mind that guidance differs between England, Scotland, Wales & Northern Ireland and in other countries. Your local guidance must be followed.
Given the above we cannot see any reasonable opportunity of convening a 2020 AGM any time soon.
In light of the above and the arrangements that were in place for 2020, it is proposed that we transfer these to the ALSRM show in Reading on Saturday 8 May 2021.
We can then hold our 2021 AGM in conjunction with the show, as planned for this year.
In addition, given that we are probably going to be unable to hold a 2020 AGM, it is proposed that we convene a 2020 AGM, in Reading on 8 May 2021, to conduct any required official business, close and then conduct the 2021 AGM.
This means that:
- The committee and current post-holders remain in place.
- The membership subscriptions remain the same for 2021.
